Mindful Making Workshop – Winter Series SOLD OUT
Winter brings with it the opportunity to retreat indoors and snuggle under blankets on the sofa. To enjoy the warm glow of the fireplace (if you’re lucky enough to have one) or the flickering light of a candle. The feeling of warmth from cradling your cup of coffee in the morning. The Danish have a word for this feeling of comfort and cosiness: Hygge (pronounced hue-guh).
“The secret to Hygge lies in paying attention to our daily lives. The people we choose to spend time with, the things we use and the activities we undertake that give life value and meaning”. – Louisa Thomsen Brits
The Mindful Making Winter workshop is inspired by the concept of Hygge. We’ll spend a day slowing down and being in the moment with your hands in the clay to create your Hygge essentials. You’ll make some beautiful ceramic pieces that will help to create a feeling of cosiness in your home. A mug that perfectly fits the shape of your hands, a petite tea light candle vessel and a dish for your sweet afternoon tea treats.
The workshop runs from 10am to 2pm, in the Winterwares studio at Stackwood, 10 Stack Street, Fremantle. Including all materials and a vegetarian lunch.
Simone does the firing and glazing after the workshop and your completed pieces will be ready to collect within 3–4 weeks. Tickets are non-refundable, though you can transfer to a friend if you can’t make it.
Upcoming workshop dates:
Saturday, August 11 – SOLD OUT
Saturday, August 25 – SOLD OUT
Saturday, September 8 – SOLD OUT
“Thank you so much for sharing your space, skills and calming personality with us all! I had a wonderful time and felt great afterwards. There were some super lovely people in the workshop too, and it’s a wonderful feeling when you walk away from having met strangers thinking that you’ve met someone who you’d love to stay in touch with” Lauren
